Pete Welsh
Pete Welsh Guitar

About Pete…

Pete is a Lancastrian and Bolton Wanderers supporter who lives in Folkestone for some odd reason. He learned to play the guitar in the 80s when you had to know how to do tapping solos before you learned to play a bog standard G chord (Pete still doesn’t know how to play chords). He evolved a guitar style based upon playing as fast as humanly possibly in the hope that one of the notes would be right eventually and that nobody would notice. This pursuit of pure speed over any element of melody inevitably led Pete into the dark world of death Metal where he communed with the Gods Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman in the search for sqeauls, squeaks, speed, tricks and no tune whatsoeveratall. Pete’s main claim to fame was the he was widdlemeister general in Nottingham extreme metallers Tenebrae for 6 years. He has however played in many bands in Spain, France and the UK some of which demanded that he play proper tunes from time to time. In spite of the evil streak Pete is really a classic rocker at heart and loves nothing more than some ‘snake, Scorps, UFO and Led Zep. His favourite song really is Ready an’ Willin’ but then even that has a ‘devil’ reference in it! Snakebite are trying to tame him and have forced him to learn chords and see the use of the ‘clean’ channel on his amp for things like ‘Is This Love’. We’ll see if they can succeed where others have been consumed by the Beast.

Oh and he’s 5’9” honestly, it’s just that Nick and Tom are so tall that he looks shorter than he really is but isn’t self-conscious at all.
