Ray's Page

Ray WhiskerName; Ray  Whisker

Instrument; Drums
Ray has been playing drums since the age of 13 taught initially by his father and then by watching top of the pops, he also took part early on in a bunch of school bands. later on this activity turned towards regularly gigging pub bands such as Shot in the dark,Born 2 Be,Scandal,Trickshot, Private practice (function band), and depping for several other acts, one such band being popular local act Live n kickin . Rays work with Born 2 Be saw them taken to a new level of success winning a battle of the bands contest in 1992 which culminated in several TV appearances on the James Whale show and Helter Skelter, this in turn prompted him to join forces with B 2 B frontman Lee Horrocks(currently residing in LA Songwriting) and two new guitarists to form the band CUFF who went on to make more TV appearances, again on Helter Skelter, Craig Charles's Funky Bunker and then five weeks A-listed on MTV Live, this led to more highs with a win in the Best unsigned band in the country title. live and studio radio work followed ,on (Radio 1, Glr, XFM). Cuff then released a string of singles, one track becoming John Peels single of the week. ultimately this ended up with a recording deal on Atlantic Records Where Ray spent months in the U S playing and recording their first Album which to this day unfortunately is still on Atlantics shelf gathering dust, working at this level prompted Ray to aim higher than joining your average pub band, and via the internet land himself the drum seat in Led By Zepelin www.led-by-zeppelin.co.uk/. at the same time joing forces with Tom to become part of Snakebite. both rock yet completely different drum style parts. Zeppelin being much more free form and whitesnake using double bass drums and a more commercial approach to song writing. With the addition of the very tall! pete welsh (he talks French don't you know) on the other guitar, the songs really began to work well to the point where the set list is as much fun to play as it is great to listen to.
